The Medalist uses a double-prism split-image system. The prisms are located on either side of the viewfinder -- hence, the three windows on the front of the camera. In use, the split-image that is used for focusing is located just below the viewfinder window. So you focus and then shift your eye up about 1/16 inch to compose your shot. This is a Kodak Medalist rangefinder camera made in by the Eastman Kodak company out of Rochester, NY. This camera is considered by many to be the pinnacle of American camera manufacturing.
